-29C in Calgary this morning; don't think I'll be wearing sandals to the airport!
I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep this blog up while I'm away but I'll give it a shot. Already problems at the airport. My tablet won't let me into the blogger site on an unsecured network and my phone can't access all the blogger features. Oh well..... Off to Houston today and then to Costa Rica early Saturday morning.
Arrived in Houston about 8:30pm but by the time I retrieved luggage and hailed the shuttle I didn't get to the hotel until about 10:30. I had called last night to verify the shuttle process, but was given bad information. Just the last of three reasonably significant "left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing" instances on my way here. Zen - it's all good. Now for a few hours sleep before heading back to the airport at 4:30am - yikes!
The landscape leaving Calgary and heading over Montana was simply beautiful. A big layer of pristine fresh snow over the largely barren terrain looking east as we flew southeast from Calgary. The most beautiful part was the contours of the winding river coulees; wonder if one of those is the Missouri that we plan to paddle this summer. Raining and foggy in Houston. Hopefully headed for sunshine tomorrow, although I see that an increased chance of showers has crept into the forecast.
